Trig Construction is a growing company that was established by Shane & Sarah Swan in 2010. We are based in Otumoetai and cover Tauranga as well as the Western Bay of Plenty for all types of residential construction. We specialise in Alterations, Additions, Renovations and Re-clads.
At Trig Construction we pride ourselves on the quality of our workmanship. We endeavor to offer our clients the highest level of service, and use quality materials and reputable subtrades. You can feel confident that we have the experience and expertise to ensure your project runs smoothly.
We pride ourselves in our ability to guide clients through the entire building process, from “concept to completion”. This means that in the early stages we will define a clear scope of works, which may include additional aspects such as arranging designers, building surveyors, obtaining council permits etc, right through to finishing and landscaping. We will do everything we can to ensure you find the building process enjoyable and we will treat your property with the utmost care and respect

The Trig Construction Team
Managing Director – Shane Swan
Shane is a Licensed Building Practitioner (BP118476) and particularly enjoys working directly with clients and getting an in-depth understanding of what they hope to achieve during the course of their building work. He finds it satisfying taking a project from concept right through to completion and ensuring the client’s needs and expectations are met.
Shane has been in the building industry for ten years. In 2010 he started Trig Construction Ltd which was only two years after becoming qualified. In 2008 Shane won the Regional Building Apprentice of the Year competition (Bay of Plenty) and then went on to achieve 2nd place in the National competition.
Prior to becoming a builder, Shane was an Aeronautical Engineer working for Air New Zealand at their Auckland engineering base. He left after the opportunity to take voluntary redundancy arose and moved on to pursue his passion in building; completing an Adult Apprenticeship in Carpentry. His engineering skills have held him in good stead in the building industry. His systematic and precision approach to all aspects of his working career ensure that jobs are run smoothly and any issues that may arise are dealt with rapidly.
Outside of work Shane enjoys spending time with family and friends, going fishing and just generally enjoying the outdoor lifestyle the Bay of Plenty offers.
Administrator – Sarah Swan
Sarah has been married to Shane for seven years and they have two young sons together, Cameron & Ryan.
Sarah’s background is in administration and she has been doing this type of work for 14 years. Sarah has helped Shane with his office work from day one and due to the growth of the company she has left her secretarial role to solely work for Trig Construction.
Outside of work Sarah loves filling her time seeing family & friends, and she also loves to bake.
